Revision as of 15:14, 11 February 2006
I enjoyed being in Copenhagen so much last June for the reboot conference, that Catherine and I are considering spending a month in the city this spring, either before, after or surrounding the 2006 edition of the conference.
I'm lucky to have a helpful teams of Copenhagen residents "on the ground" who've offered to help, and Olle suggested I put together this "requirements" page to aid their aid, so to speak.
So here's what we're looking for, housing wise:
- townhouse or house or apartment in Copenhagen for about 30 days in May and/or June of 2006; perhaps slightly more or slightly less duration
- at least two bedrooms, one with a double bed or larger (for Catherine and I), the other with single bed (for Oliver)
- prefer an additional bedroom or other small room that I can use as an office / work space
- relatively child-friendly (i.e. no moats, spiky artworks, dangling electrical wires)
- cooking facilities (nothing elaborate, but a workable kitchen)
- high-speed Internet access (DSL, public wifi, etc. or alternative) a must
- no need for a telephone
- maximum 10-15 minute walk to public transit (we won't have a car, and cycling with Oliver will sometimes be a challenge)
- prefer a child-friendly neighbourhood -- i.e. other kids, play areas, etc.
- prefer characterful housing as opposed to Soviet-style tower block and will sacrifice some degree of modern conveniences to obtain additional architectural whimsy
We are:
- Three people (Catherine, me, five year old Oliver)
- non-smoking
- pet-free
- Canadian
- able to provide references, both in Copenhagen and from previous temporary rentals
I'll update this page as our plans and requirements become more finely tuned.
