Formerly owned by the Schurman family, the small Schurman's chain of building supply stores was recently purchased by the Irvings. The general assumption seems to be that Schurman's will eventually be rebranded "Kent Building Supplies," and rolled into the Kent chain of stores already in place in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
