New page

I'll enhance the information on this page shortly, but I wanted to have a placeholder to provide some step-by-step information on how I've been creating screencasts for [[Plazes]].

The toolchain I've been using is this:

* Screen grabs with [http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ Snapz Pro X]
* Audio recording with [http://www.freeverse.com/soundstudio/ Sound Studio 3]
* Screencast assembly with [http://www.apple.com/iwork/keynote/ Keynote] (an unexpectedly great tool for this)
* Export from Keynote into QuickTime
* Chop into individual chapters with QuickTime Pro
* Conversion to Flash Video (FLV) format [http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/productinfo/encoder/ Flash Video Encoder]
* Screencast player is a custom Flash application that uses the [http://weblogs.macromedia.com/flashjavascript/ Flash/Javascript Integration Kit] to communicate with the web page that contains it.
Peter
